The
name and the menu artfully stained with a faux coffee-cup ring advertise
the coffee house aspect, but this spot has much more to offer. Breakfast
items include starters like oversized scones, muffins, bagels and yogurt
parfait.
For a more substantial breakfast pick from French toast (plain and a stuffed
version), Belgium waffles (with strawberries and bananas or with apples
and caramel rum sauce), pancakes, breakfast burritos and frittatas (the
"Italian flag" stars tomatoes, spinach, onions and mozzarella;
the bacon frittata has applewood smoked bacon, sauteed mushrooms and Cheddar).
The lineup of usual sides-include smoke bacon, sausage, and ham off the
bone. For lunch, bite into any of seven panini. Soups, salads and regular
sandwiches (tuna melt, turkey and Swiss, egg salad) round out lunch.

The
panini, served on grilled, rosemary-flecked bread, are the way to
go: Favorites are the prosciutto and provolone and the grilled chicken
with mozzarella and bacon.
For breakfast, the stuffed French toast boasts two large slices of
brioche filled with vanilla-spiked whipped cream cheese, topped with
banana and strawberry slices and drizzled with a banana creme anglaise
and raspberry coulis. Try the espresso-based drinks: The extensive
list includes all the classics, such as espresso, cappuccino, latte,
iced cappucino and iced mocha. The hot chocolate is also very good. |
